Albert A. "Al" Tiedt age 87, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison. He was born on November 3, 1928 in Columbus to Arthur and Anna (Schultz) Tiedt. Albert was married to Viola Fischer on November 8, 1958 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Pardeeville. He was a lifelong Town of Elba farmer and served as the township health officer for many years. Besides the love of his life, Viola, he loved farming his land and enjoyed his hobby was repairing clocks. He was an usher at Zion Lutheran Church, Columbus for more than 40 years. Survivors include his wife Viola of 57 years; cousins, nieces, nephews and other near relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Sylvester (Kathleen) Tiedt and William (Margaret) Tiedt. Albert was the last surviving of the first cousins. Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M., with visitation beginning at 8:30 A.M., on Monday, June 20, 2016 at ZION EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, Columbus. Rev. Robert Wilke officiated. Interment was in Hillside Cemetery, Columbus. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or your choice.
