Obituary

FALL RIVER/CAMBRIA—Anita L. "Birdie" Riphahn, age 85, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Randolph Health Center, Randolph. Anita was born on January 12, 1937 to Leonard and Eugenia (Bonneprise) Hedrington Sr. in New Richmond, WI. Anita was married to Fredrick B. Hendricks in July, 1957 and to George A. Riphahn in June, 1994.

Anita was employed for many years at Rock County Social Services. She also drove school bus for many years in Fall River and Columbus. Anita was a strong and independent woman; if someone told her she couldn't do something, she would prove them wrong.  She was known for making the best crab salad that was requested for every family event and loved by all. Anita and George spent their retired years buying, refurbishing and selling houses, frequently saying "this is the last one." In her spare time, she enjoyed gambling at Ho Chunk and she attended the Kentucky Derby many times. When she was 82, she flew to Las Vegas, her first and only airplane trip.

Anita is survived by her children Daniel J. (Peggy) Hendricks and Denise L. (Robert) Bahr; grandchildren Benjamin R. (Clare) Hendricks, Natasha M. (Jordan) Goldesberry, Patrick T. (Ashley) Campfield, Elizabeth A. (Reggie) Hoskin; six great grandchildren Liam H. Woodard, Avery L. Woodard, Callum D. Hendricks, Aubrey M. Hendricks, Kyra Campfield, Georgia M ae Campfield and Jeremiah J Campfield; brother-in-law Larry (Jan) Tyler; other relatives and friends.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Frederick B. Hendricks and George A. Riphahn; daughter Deborah A. Hendricks; grandson Ryan F. Hendricks; brother Patrick Hedrington; sisters Delores Tyler and Leah Zimmerman; sister-in-law and best friend Shirley Hedrington.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Meadows of Fall River and Randolph Health Center for their care of Anita after her stroke in 2021.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Fall River Village Park, Fall River. Inurnment will be in Cambria Cemetery.
