Bernard J. "Bernie" Mulligan age 81, died on Tuesday, March 8, 2016. He was born on January 4, 1935 in Columbus to Edwin and Doris (Lange) Mulligan. He was a 1955 graduate of Columbus High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959. Bernie was employed at Mosinee Paper Co. in Columbus for 26 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church. Survivors include his three sisters, Jeanne Jones , Joanne Nitschke and Donna Hendricks, all of Columbus; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Robert Jones, George Nitschke and Dale Hendricks. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 3:00 P.M., with visitation beginning at 2:00 P.M., on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at ST. JEROME CATHOLIC CHURCH, Columbus followed by full military honors. Rev. Steve Kortendick officiated. Inurnment was in St. Jerome Cemetery, Columbus on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. Memorials may be directed to the St. Jerome building fund.
