ST. CHARLES MN/FALL RIVER WI--Beth A. Egel age 56, passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, October 27, 2018 after a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was born on December 3, 1961 in LaCrosse, WI to Richard and Margaret (O'Reilly) Culhane. Beth graduated from St. Charles High School and played the flute in band. She graduated from Winona State University in Winona, MN where she earned her degree in nursing. As a registered nurse, Beth was passionate about nursing and worked in the health care industry at several institutions. She made many home health visits as a visiting nurse over the years. She was married to Robert Egel on June 6, 1987 in St. Charles, MN. Beth enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens, baking, and caring for her grandpuppies. She will be remembered by her family and friends as kind, selfless, and thoughtful with a witty and wry sense of humor. Beth was eternally optimistic, even to the end. Survivors include her daughter Molly Egel of Rochester, MN; two sons Bryan Egel (Cassandra Yanez) of Orfordville, WI and Aaron Egel of Waunakee, WI; two brothers Richard (Joyce) Culhane of Albert Lea, MN and Daniel (Stacey) Culhane of Ames, IA; her former husband Robert Egel; her grandpuppies Rocco, Pax and Brody and kitty, Kefla. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, William. A Memorial Mass was held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 2, 2018 at ST. JEROME CATHOLIC CHURCH, Columbus. Rev. Garrett Kau officiated. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, St. Charles, MN. Visitation was from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the Jensen funeral home in Columbus and from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the church on Friday. Memorials may be directed to Gilda's Club or the American Legion. Mom would also love it if a gift of a living plant was given in her memory because of her love of gardening.
