Catherine A. "Katie" Herrmann, age 84, died on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison surrounded by her family. She was born on October 26, 1941 to Michael and Gertrude (Powers) Cullen in Columbus, WI.

Katie grew up on a dairy farm in Danville. During high school, she moved into town, where she met her future husband, Bill. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1960 and later earned her nursing degree from Columbia St. Mary's School of Nursing in Milwaukee. Katie and Bill married on August 3, 1968. She worked as a registered nurse from 1963 to 1975 before devoting herself to raising their five children. Throughout the years, Katie and Bill enjoyed traveling together, with Ireland holding a special place in her heart for its beauty and heritage.

Katie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, shopping, and going out for Friday Fish Fry.

Katie is survived by her husband Bill Herrmann of Columbus; five children Megan (Scott) Hutchinson, Greg Herrmann, Amy (Dan) Erdmann, Jennifer (Darren) Gmeinder, Jonathan (Wendy) Herrmann; nine grandchildren Colton, Austin, Peter, Andy, Maddy, Cal, Zach, Carter, Shelby; her sister, Sister Mary Elizabeth Cullen; sister-in-law Marilyn Dodge; niece Tami (Tim) Fiocchi.

Katie was preceded in death by her parents; brother Bill Cullen; in-laws Ronald and Mildred Herrmann; brother-in-law Larry Dodge.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, November 20, 2025, with a public visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. at Jensen Funeral & Cremation, Columbus. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the family or Prairie Ridge Health, Columbus.
