--Chester R. Benck age 90, passed away with his family by his side on Friday, November 18, 2016. He was born on September 7, 1926 in Bloomington, IL to Carl and Louise (Gebhert) Benck. He was married to Lois Clark on January 25, 1948 in Kankakee, IL. Chester farmed in the Fall River area and was involved in many community projects. He was an active member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church in Fall River where he served on church council and other committees. Chester enjoyed bowling and after retirement, began woodworking. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and the love for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Lois of
Fall River; five children Crystal (Tim) Birkenstock of
Florida, Marge (Dan) Abegglen of Fall River, Carl (Sue) Benck of Fall River, Debbie Harmes, Jane (Dean) Berger of Watertown; son-in-law Gary (Cindy) Waterworth of Fall River; twelve grandchildren Toni (Jamie) McGee, Troy (Beth) Sauer, Sarah (Rahim) Rahaman, Drew (Gina) Waterworth, Ben (Ann) Birkenstock, Andrew Birkenstock, Stephanie (Frank) Pipp, Beth (Mark) Kinslow, Jeffrey (Keri) Abegglen, Molly Benck, Ryan Benck, Stephanie Harmes, James Harmes, Leah Berger, Kelly Zimmerman; eighteen great grandchildren; brother Richard (Mary) Benck of Naperville, IL; sister-in-law Norma Benck of Cazenovia, NY; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Susan Sauer and Barb Waterworth; one brother Raymond. A memorial
service was held at 12:00 P.M., with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M., on
Saturday, November 26, 2016 at ST. STEPHEN'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, Fall River. Rev. James Bolda officiated. Inurnment will be at a later date.
