FALL RIVER/COLUMBUS--Crystal Jean Koehler age 91, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at At Home Again Assisted Living in Columbus. She was born on April 23, 1924 at home in Alliston, Wisconsin to Hugo and Hazel (Marche) Schnitger. Crystal graduated from the Watertown High School where she met her lifetime love, Alvin Koehler. They were married in 1945 while Al was serving in the U.S. Army. Crystal was employed by Harris Pine Mills where she was the cushion and sewing department supervisor. She loved the interaction with students of Wisconsin Academy working under her direction at the mill. She and Al purchased the Fall River homestead in 1963 and in the late 1990's developed Crystal Knoll Estates in Fall River. She enjoyed harvesting, canning and sharing fresh vegetables from their large garden. She was a faithful servant of God and member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Crystal is survived by her husband of 70 years, Alvin of Columbus; two sons David of Oconto Falls and Mark (Kathy) of Clearwater FL; other relatives and friends. A Life Tribute was held at 11:00 A.M., with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M., on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Jensen funeral home in Columbus. Pastor Jean Marcel Clouzet and Pastor Steve Aust officiated. Inurnment was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Watertown. Memorials may be made to the Wisconsin Academy Church, Columbus.
