Obituary

Dale Carl Standke, age 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Our House Assisted Living in Portage. Born on March 3, 1938, in Neshkoro to Carl and Mabel (Mischke) Standke, Dale was a cherished and respected figure in the community. His life was defined by his unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and the Village of Fall River, where his contributions will be remembered for generations.

Dale attended Wautoma High School and married his beloved wife, Sandra Kasubaski, on April 29, 1961, in Neshkoro. Together, they raised five children and created a home filled with love, joy, and enduring memories. Dale was known for his meticulous attention to detail, always maintaining an immaculate lawn and spotless vehicles—a reflection of the care he put into every aspect of his life.

Dale's career was both varied and impactful. He worked for FS/Growmark as a machine mechanic, semi-driver, and dispatcher, while also pursuing entrepreneurial ventures that included selling Rupp snowmobiles and cars, as well as constructing homes. His deep commitment to the Village of Fall River was evident in his long service as Village President and Fire Chief, where he played a crucial role in shaping the community's growth and spirit.

Dale was a man of many passions, known in the local softball leagues as the "pitcher who didn't wear a glove" and as an avid hunter who proudly shared his trophies with family. His self-proclamation of "not one to sit still" was evident in his active involvement in the community, whether spending time with friends at Tramburg Motors, enjoying weekly gatherings at Kelly's Bar, cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events, or simply bringing a warm smile and friendly presence to every circle he was a part of.

Dale is survived by his loving children: Denise Munoz, Dawn Rabl (fiancé John), Kim (Kathy) Standke, and Kurt Standke; his son-in-law Kevin Neuman; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his sister Sandra Gohlke; his brothers Dean (Donna) Standke and Du Wayne Standke; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Sandra in 2023, his daughter Debra Neuman, his grandson Ryan Standke, and his sisters Marlene Tadman, Audrey Schrank and Jalane Hieman.

Dale will be laid to rest at the Fall River Cemetery next to his wife Sandra. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at the Fall River Fire Department.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Dale's memory to the Fall River Fire Department. Dale will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him, but his legacy of love, dedication, and community service will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to be a part of his life.
