Obituary

Dawn Patrick, age 61, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 12, 2024 in the comfort of her own home.

Dawn was born on March 9, 1963 to George and Norma (Redeker) Smedema in Waupun, WI. She married the love of her life, Dale Patrick, on June 19, 1982 at the First Reformed Church in Randolph, WI. She worked for over 20 years in the dental industry, including the last 15 at Dental Health Associates in Madison, WI. She adored her doctors and coworkers, and valued building relationships with her patients.

Dawn was an active member in the Fall River community where she and her family lived. She was the Booster Club President for years while her children attended Fall River schools, and helped coordinate other community fundraisers and events. Dawn loved her family and cherished spending time with them. This included hosting large family events for holidays and other occasions. She enjoyed golfing with Dale regularly and the Thursday Lady's night at Columbus Country Club, where they were lifelong members. She loved cheering on her kids in sports or whatever they were doing. She liked traveling with Dale and her role as the "head navigator," planning their trips and on the road.

Dawn is survived by her husband, Dale Patrick of Fall River and their three children: Weston (Monica) Patrick of Sun Prairie, Taylor (Morgan) Patrick of Deerfield, Mackenzie (Trevor) Waterworth of Randolph; grandson she dearly loved, Callan Patrick; mother Norma Smedema; brothers Tom Smedema of Madison, Doug (Debbie) Smedema of Randolph, Keith (Melinda) Smedema of Indianapolis, IN, Brian (Wendy) Smedema of Juneau; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Dawn was preceded in death by her father George Smedema, nephew Logan Smedema, and countless other loved ones before her.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 19, 2024 and continuing the next day at 9:00 A.M. with a funeral service at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 20, 2024 at First Reformed Church in Randolph.
