Denny served in the Vietnam War with the U.S. Army from 1964 until 1966. It was a difficult period in Denny's life following his military service and it took its toll. Denny attended school in Columbus.  He spent the early part of his life in Columbus and later he moved to Portage, Wi.  He was a collector of small scale semi-trucks that he was very proud of.  He enjoyed going to the truck shows in Waupun and Iowa.  He could always tell what truck was going by.

Denny is survived by his sister Renay (Rick) Carmichael of Silvas IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Denny was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Ruth Carney and Ardyth Steward; one brother Virgil.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Jensen Funeral & Cremation LLC, Columbus. There will be a visitation from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M..  Rev. Rick Schroeder will officiate. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery with full military honors.
