Ellen M. Mobry age 76, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 at her home. She was born on May 16, 1939 in Springfield, OH to Herman and Melissa (Perry) Mershon. Ellen was a Clairol Hair Color and department store tea room model before meeting James Earl Mobry Jr. at an Arthur Murray Dance Studio where both were instructors. They married on February 25, 1961 in Cedar Rapids, IA. Together they raised six children as well as 27 foster kids over an 11 year period. The couple owned and operated ABC Shirt Lettering on Monona Drive for 27 years and taught many of their friends to dance at parties in their home. Ellen was also a successful Beeline Fashions consultant, hosting numerous fashion shows in her home, breaking sales records and being rewarded with travel. In her spare time, she earned an Associates Degree in Marketing from Madison Area Technical College. Survivors include three daughters, Julie Ellen Mobry (Tim Geiger) of Columbus, Jenny Ellen (Darrell) Augustine of Apache Junction AZ, Jill Ellen (John) Kaufman of Madison; two sons, James Earl (Juli) Mobry III of Columbus and Robert Anthony Lee (Mandy) Mobry of Sun Prairie; 18 grandchildren, Bob, Jeffery, Suzi, Jessica, Amanda, Steven, Riley, Ryan, Courtney, Cullie, Ellie, Holly, Anton, James IV, Jefferson, Jack, Jordan, and Ariana; 8 great grandchildren, Kallie, Carson, Aubree, James, Andrew, Sebastian, Derek and Kaukalio; sisters, brothers, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, in 2009; a daughter, Joan Ellen in 2013. A Celebration of Life gathering was from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at the COLUMBUS COUNTRY CLUB in Columbus. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. She will always be remembered fondly for her cooking and crafting prowess. Clear the floor, for now they are dancing together again!
