Obituary

Esther E. York age 84, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. She was born on January 6, 1940 to Gustav and Catherine (Sheets) Kircher in Abington, PA. She graduated from Willow Grove High School and attended Philadelphia College of Bible for two years.

In 1962 she met her loving husband Edward A. York. They were married on October 5, 1963 in Willow Grove, PA. Esther was a stay-at-home mother while raising three daughters.

In 1976, Ed and Esther moved from PA to WI and bought a dairy farm in the Blanchardville area. Esther worked as a home companion for over 30 years finally retiring in March of 2024 at 84 years old. She worked for Home Health United after which she worked independently. She ended her career working for the Colonial Club in Sun Prairie. Esther really enjoyed helping others through her job.

Esther was always an active member in her church. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years and especially loved the 4-5 year olds. She and Ed were youth leaders in various churches. Esther had a strong faith often sharing her testimony freely. Her heart's desire was that everyone would accept Christ as their personal Savior and know for sure they would go to heaven. She was a strong prayer warrior and was faithful in her daily devotions. Prior to her death, Esther was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Sun Prairie.

Esther loved having her family around especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing table games with them, specifically Uno. She had a love for cats and left behind her dear cat Albert. Esther took pleasure in going to Friday night fish fry and putting together jigsaw puzzles with her neighbors. Esther's interests included crocheting, reading and playing Mahjong on her computer.
