Germaine M. Stenzel age 87, died on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at St. Mary's Care Center in Madison. She was born on February 10, 1930 in Milwaukee to Joseph and Margaret (Calabrese) Schmidt. She was married to John "Jack" Stenzel on July 23, 1951 in Milwaukee. Survivors include her daughter Sherry (Dale) Smith of Verona and her son Jay (Joyce) Stenzel of Columbus; five grandchildren Jonathan (Heather) Stenzel, Jason Stenzel, Scott (Becky) Smith, Nicole Smith and Susie Morgan; six great grandchildren Cora and Sadie Smith and Kaylee, Madalynn, Robert and Zoey Stenzel; two sisters Edith (Donald) Severns of Washington state and Carmel Schmidt of Milwaukee; one brother Edward (Nancy) Schmidt of Sister Bay; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Jack in 2002; a brother Richard Schmidt and granddaughter Katie Smith. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:30 A.M., with visitation beginning at 10:30 A.M., on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at ST. JEROME CATHOLIC CHURCH, in Columbus. Rev. Garrett Kau officiated. Interment was in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Milwaukee. Memorials may be made to St. Jerome School.
