Gregory "Greg"
Beers
Feb 13, 1964 — Sep 7, 2024
Gregory D. "Greg" Beers, age 60, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at his happy place around the campfire.
Greg was born on February 13, 1964, to Dennis and Karen (Oliver) Beers in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He married the love of his life, Karla Nelson, on August 18, 1990, in Fall River. Greg was a dedicated Master Pattern Maker at Kirsh Foundry for over 30 years, and he dedicated 28 years of service to the Fall River Fire Department. 15 of those years he served his community as the Assistant Fire Chief. During that time, he also served 18 years of service as an EMT in Fall River, 17 of those as the EMS Coordinator.
Greg was a man who loved to be outside. He always found beauty and faith in nature, whether he was watching wildlife, hunting with his dad and son-in-law Cory, fishing, or, as in most recent years, camping. During the winter months, you could always find Greg in his workshop, making gifts for his friends and family or simply making different furniture for his home.
Greg is survived by his wife, Karla, of Fall River and their three children: Ashley Cutsforth of Brandon, Chelsie (Cory) Ertz of Sun Prairie and Brandi Beers of Sauk City; grandchildren who he fiercely loved; Lilyian Cutsforth, Jaxen Ertz, and Jade Ertz; sisters Angela (Tom) Maloney of Fall River, and Michele Pasewald of Fall River; and countless other relatives and friends.
Greg was preceded by death by his parents and countless other loved ones before him.
A celebration of life will be held from 12 pm to 3 pm on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Willow Mills Campground in Rio, WI.
A special thank you goes to the first responders from the Rio EMS, Rio Fire Department, Pardeeville EMS, Doylestown Fire Department for their quick response and dedication to serving our communities. Also, a big thank you to all the nurses at SSM Health Dialysis Center of Beaver Dam for all the special care and attention you have given Greg over the last few years.
