Janet "Missy" Lee Grove, age 58, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. She was born on February 8, 1966, to Leroy and Judith (Gordon) Krapohl in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
Janet grew up in Northwestern Minnesota before making Wisconsin her home for most of her life. Her career was rooted in the food industry, including a meaningful period working as a lunch server at Franklin Middle School in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, alongside her beloved mother, Judy. Later, she found joy working in bakeries, where she formed many cherished friendships along the way.
Janet treasured time spent with family and friends, nurturing relationships that brought her immense happiness. A woman of faith, she found comfort and pride in her Native American heritage, which was a source of strength and identity throughout her life. She also loved reading and listening to music, finding beauty in life's simple pleasures.
Janet will be deeply missed by all who know her. Her spirit, kindness, and love will forever remain in our hearts.
She is survived by her two sons, Chris (Emily) and Mike (Karissa); grandchildren, Michael, Leah, Erica, Arthur, and Simon; siblings, Lee (Julianne), Tony (Karlene), and Nikki (Nick); nieces, Arielle, Michelle, Bailey, Rayna, Paige, Piper, and Taylor; and her stepfather, Rod.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 15th, at 2:00 p.m. at Otsego Town Hall in Otsego, Wisconsin.
