Cash
Jan 29, 1934 — Apr 22, 2025
Fall River
Joyce L. Cash, 91, died peacefully on April 22, 2025, at The Meadows in Fall River, Wisconsin. She was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on January 29, 1934, to Gilbert and Cecelia Field. She was a graduate of Fall River High School, and married Richard C. "Dick" Nemitz on September 12, 1953. They were married until his death in 1975. She later married Richard Cash on October 27, 1979, in Phoenix, AZ.
Her first job while still in high school was as a nanny for Ann Ehlenfelt, who remained a lifelong friend. Joyce worked as a receptionist at the Fall River Canning Company and ended her career working in the legal department at American Family Insurance.
Joyce enjoyed fishing, camping, especially at Jordan Lake, snowmobiling and playing cards, often with Robbins, Brown, Krakow and McAliley families. Joyce taught her grandchildren and "adopted" Mickelson grandchildren how to fish, clean and eat their catch. She and her dear friend Jane spent many hours telling stories at the lake around the campfire. She enjoyed ceramics, reading, cake decorating, attending her grandchildren's activities and events and spending time with her great-grandchildren. She was an active and faithful member of the Fall River United Methodist Church to the end, where she sang in the choir and served on many committees. She was also a member of the Fall River United Methodist Women's Sarah Circle. Joyce was a strong and independent woman who lived in her own home until five days before her death.
Joyce is survived by her daughter Peggy (Dan) Hendricks of Fall River, brothers Ken Field of Fall River, Allen Field of Sparks, NV, daughter-in-law Lisa Nemitz of Antigo, grandsons Ben (Clare) Hendricks of Sun Prairie and Dakota (Kayla) Nemitz of Antigo, granddaughters Katie (Turner) Rickert of Antigo, Carrie (Shawn Baskins) Nemitz of Antigo and Jessica (Brandon) Schultz of Sheboygan, great-grandchildren Callum, Aubrey and Blake Hendricks, James Nemitz, Jace and Paxton Nemitz, Cora and Gracieanne Rickert, and Alastor Alan Schultz, born only two days before Joyce passed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Richard C. Nemitz, Richard Cash, dear friend Johnny Rabl, son Keith Nemitz, grandson Ryan Hendricks, beloved sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, godchildren and friends.
We would like to extend a grateful "thank you" to the staff of Bristol Hospice and The Meadows Assisted Living of Fall River.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with visitation starting at 9:00 A.M. on Monday, May 5, 2025 at the FALL RIVER UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Fall River. Rev. Sang Wook Park will officiate. Interment will be at the Fall River Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to The Fall River United Methodist Church.
