Loraine A. Kvale age 89, died on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the Larson House in Columbus. She was born on September 6, 1924 in Madison to Arlo and Hilda (Schram) Merritt. Loraine was married to Alvin Kvale on September 15, 1944 in Dubuque, IA. She was the bookkeeper for South Leeds Garage for many years before retiring in 2009. Loraine was a member of Spring Prairie Lutheran Church in Keyeser where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the ladies aid. Survivors include her three sons, Thomas (Bobbie) Kvale of Clintonville, Jeff Kvale and Bill (Jeanette) Kvale all of DeForest; one daughter, Bonnie (Mark) Adam of Columbus; eight grandchildren, Barbie (Brandon) Eichelkraut, TJ (Brenda) Adam, Timm Adam, Rebecca (Dan) Oehlert, Sara Kvale, Kayla (fiancé Travis Rotar) Kvale, Jimmy Kvale, Nancy (Zach) Cassa; five great grandchildren, Sabrina Reynen, Ayden Adam, Rhyann Adam, Presley Kvale, Braylin Kvale; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin; a sister, Lola Merritt; a brother, Robert Merritt; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Kvale. Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M., with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M., on Monday, August 25, 2014 at SPRING PRAIRIE LUTHERAN CHURCH, Keyeser. Pastor Sylvia Lee-Thompson officiated. Interment was in the church cemetery.
