Lucille B. Pergande age 84, passed away after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Thursday, August 11, 2016 with her husband and daughter Sandy by her side. She was born on August 30, 1931 in Watertown to Lawrence and Martha (Yerges) Marquardt. Lucille graduated from Northwestern College in Watertown. She was married to Herbert Pergande on October 14, 1950 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Watertown. The couple worked their 150 acre farm for seventeen years until buying their home in Columbus. She was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Columbus and was the Zion Lutheran School cook for 30 years before her retirement. Lucille was an artist in rosemaling and oil-on-canvass. She and Herb created many pieces of rosemaling on wood. Operating as Hal's Crafts, they peddled much of their beautiful work at arts and crafts shows. Lucille and Herb were active and traveled many states together during their 65 years of marriage. Survivors include her husband, Herb of Columbus; two daughters Shawn Westby of Henderson NV and Sandy Evans of Sauk City; seven grandchildren Chad, Leah, Jessica, Justin, Jacob, Kristen, and Adam; seven great grandchildren Olivia, Willy, Devon, Treyton, Trevor, Kenneth Jr. and Khloe; one great-great granddaughter Autumn; two step granddaughters Amye and Patsy. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Scott in 2015, grandson Joshua Pergande, sister Violet Jaeckel and son-in-law Mike Evans. Funeral services were held at 12:00 P.M., with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M., on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at ZION EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH in Columbus. Rev. Robert Wilke officiated. Interment was in Hillside Cemetery, Columbus. Lucille was a beautiful, caring lady and will be dearly missed. The family would like to thank the Columbus Health Care Center staff for their excellent care of Lucille.
