Obituary

FRANKLIN/FALL RIVER--Mark E. Sauer age 70, of Franklin passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 16, 2018. He was born on February 29, 1948 in Columbus, the son of Floyd "Mike" Sauer and Dorothy (Miller) Langetieg. Mark graduated from Fall River High School, and later graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1990, with his teaching degree. He married Charlotte E. Bates on November 17, 1984. Mark was a life-time teacher. He taught in the Milwaukee Public School System for his entire career, but he was always giving "history" lessons in everyday life and throughout his travels. Mark loved to follow the "World of Outlaws" nation wide. He made many cycle trips with Charlotte, with Troy and Beth, and with his friend Leon. He was a "riding tour guide" everywhere he went. Mark loved to golf and played with Toni and sometimes with his grandsons. He enjoyed golfing with his friends at the Columbus Country Club. Mark loved to follow his grandchildren's activities on facebook and loved hearing all about their activities in music and sports. Mark had a relaxing retirement, spending many days at the Willow Mill Campsite surrounded by family and friends.  If you know Mark, you know that he loved life, loved to talk world affairs and politics with anyone who would listen. I'm guessing his "mill talk" in Fall River or the coffee klatch at Burger King experienced his politicking. Mark loved his Green Bay Packers, UW Badgers,  and NASCAR. He loved life and he will be deeply missed by everyone who ever knew him. Mark is survived by his loving wife Char, "Woman" as he called her of 33 years, his beloved mother Dorothy Langetieg; his daughter Toni (Jamie) McGee; his son Troy (Beth) Sauer; his step-daughter; sisters LeAnn VandeGrift and Lynee (Michael Trotter) Sauer; one brother Michael (Patricia) Sauer; three grandsons Tucker and Max McGee and Jackson Sauer and one granddaughter, Madalyn Sauer; nephew and niece Broc and Tess D'Antoni and Aunt Phyllis Miller and Aunt June Miller; brother-in-law John (Lori) Bates, and "The Kids" Em and Ted Babilias and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Floyd "Mike" Eugene Sauer; sister Lois J. Janny; brother-in-law Clemens E. Janny; step-father Allie Langetieg and step-brother Denny Langetieg. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. followed by a Celebration of Life gathering until 4:00 P.M. at SAVANNA OAKS, 100 Savanna Road, Fall River.
