Michael L. Malaney, 73, passed away on July 2, 2024 at his home in Columbus, WI. He was born on March 6, 1951 to Arthur and Dinah (Fansel) Malaney in Madison, WI. Michael retired after 35 years from the Department of Transportation.

Mike was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather (Grouchy). He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need and had a solution for any problem. His wife Linda (She Who Must Be Obeyed) was always by his side helping him raise a beautiful and loving family of three. Always sharing his wisdom with his children, what he passed on most was a quick wit and willingness to learn and try something new every day. All who knew him will remember him by his readiness to help others and stand by his convictions. He will be missed by many and forgotten by none.

Mike was very involved in the kids' activities growing up including Boy Scouts and anything needed for his Girl Scout daughters.  The Wisconsin River was his restorative getaway; there was nothing better than camping on a hidden sandbar to soak in all the silence that nature has to offer.

He is survived by his wife Linda; children Tamara (Brandon Rice), Mark, Kathleen (Shaun Otis); much loved grandson Joseph Otis; sisters Patricia (Peter Zappa), Lee Davis; sister-in-law Barbara Malaney; niece Jennifer Malaney; great-nephew Gabriel; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Dinah Malaney; brothers Mark Malaney, J Worth Malaney and Steven Malaney.

A gathering for family and friends will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Columbus Community Center 161 N Dickason Blvd, Columbus, WI. Please see forevermissed.com/michael-malaney for details.
