COLUMBUS—Norman C. "Norm" Peck, age 97, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Prairie Ridge Health, Columbus. Norm was born to Wallace and Catherine (Lange) Peck on May 30, 1925 in Portage.

He was called to serve in November 1944 and joined the U. S. Army where he was immediately stationed in the Philippines until 1946. Norm was awarded the Bronze Battle Star, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Bronze Star Victory medal and the Silver Star medal for his valiant duty.

Norm was married to Mary Jane Meland on October 14, 1960 in Keyeser. He enjoyed tending his vegetable garden, hunting, fishing and bird watching. Norm was a member of the Olivet Congregational United Church of Christ, Columbus. Together the couple enjoyed traveling throughout the continental United States.

Norm is survived by his wife Mary of Columbus; children Marcia (James) Kitchen of Friendship, Jerald Sullivan of Columbus, Bruce (Judy) Sullivan of Columbus; ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Norm is preceded in death by his parents, his son Gordon in 2014.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at SPRING PRAIRIE LUTHERAN CEMETERY, Keyeser. Rev. Ruth Bradshaw will officiate.

Memorials may be directed to the Olivet Church or Prairie Ridge Health.
