REESEVILLE/SUN PRAIRIE--Rachel D. Ott, age 87, passed away at UW Hospital in Madison after a brief illness on Thursday, December 31, 2015. She was born on October 11, 1928 to William and Bertha Hundley, Astico, WI. She married Elton L. Ott on January 30, 1945 in Columbus and together they raised six children. Most of their married life they farmed in the Reeseville area. Rachel also worked as a nursing assistant for many years, retiring from Central Wisconsin Center. The couple wintered in Mission, TX for over 20 years. Rachel was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sun Prairie. Survivors include; three sons, John (Susan) of Downers Grove Illinois, Edward (Karen) of Stoughton, Stanley of Marshall; one daughter, Janice Schmidt of Beaver Dam; a son-in-law, John Marks of Madison; eight grandchildren, Vickie Liarakos, Chris Gradel, Carina (Mark) Kellogg, Michelle Ott-Harbort, Jennifer (Kevin) Cannady, Gabriel Ott, Justin (Christiana) Schmidt, Jayson Schmidt; eight great grandchildren, Sophia Liarakos, Cassondra Ott, Ashley Harbort, Jackson Cannady, Vanessa Kellogg, Keagen Kellogg, Kelly Schmidt, Katelynn Schmidt; one sister Carol Peck of Madison and one brother Russell Hundley of Columbus; many other friends and relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Elton; son, Dennis; daughter, Rachel Jean Gradel-Marks; sister, Helen McClean, brothers; James, Theron and E. David Hundley; son in law, Jerry Schmidt and great granddaughter, Samantha Cannady. A memorial service was held at 11:00 AM, with visitation at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at PEACE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 232 Windsor Street, Sun Prairie. Pastor Luke C. Were officiated. Inurnment will be in the Lowell Cemetery, Lowell at a later date. Memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church.
