Obituary

Ronald E. "Ron" Huebner, age 73, died on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg after a hard fought battle with cancer. Ron was born on September 3, 1950 to Ervin and Phoebe (Beaver) Huebner in Beaver Dam. Ron graduated from Columbus High School in 1968. He was married to Linda Kehoe on July 19, 1975 in Rio at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Together they had two wonderful children, a son Ryan and a daughter Ronda, who were the light of his life.

Ron worked at American Packaging Corporation as a Printing Manager for 43 years, retiring at the end of 2016. He was a very active and hard worker. He owned his own "Ronnie's Lawn Care" business and worked until close to the very end. He was a great Dad and would do anything for his kids. He developed and created the Rec. basketball program at Fall River School, scheduling all the games, concessions, and coaching both Ryan and Ronda for years when they were growing up. He was also the President of the Booster Club. Ron was on the Fountain Prairie Township Board for many years including taking over as Chairman and served up until his passing. He had many hobbies over the years including Fishing, Hunting, Golfing, Trapping, Trapshooting, and yard work, especially planting lots of flowers. Over the years, Ron enjoyed going to games and tailgating. He loved spending time with family and friends. His most proud role was being "Pa" to his one and only grandchild, grandson, Adalius. He taught him to fish, hunt and was at every football, basketball, and baseball game he played. He and Pa spent tons of fun times together!

He was very happy four years ago to get an RV and park it at Bear Paw Resort near Birchwood, WI. This is where he had spent many years fishing with the "Perch Boys" on Big Lake Chetek. He enjoyed having family and friends over for his famous "Fish Fries" at his home. Ron finally got his Big Bucket list wish done in July of this year. He and his wife, Linda spent their 48th wedding anniversary on a two week land/cruise to Alaska. It was awesome and made him so happy to be able to make it through all the activities he wanted to do.

Ron's best companion was his dog, a black Shih tzu named "Buddy." And he was just that, his little buddy. They were so close and he was even able to be with Ron at Agrace in his bed, towards the end for comfort.

Ron was an adventurous guy who had a lot of stories to share. He had a great sense of humor with a strong spirit. He had many wonderful friends, that are too many to name. Thanks to all of the dear friends who helped through this very difficult time. We feel so blessed to have such caring friends and family. We would also like to thank Agrace Hospice for all their comfort care for Ron and our family.

Ron is survived by his wife Linda Huebner of Fall River; son Ryan (Courtney) Huebner of Brookfield; daughter Ronda Huebner of Sun Prairie; grandson Adalius Huebner, sister JoAnn Gallagher, sister Diane (Brian) Gjermo both of Stoughton, one brother Dennis Huebner, one special niece Brenda Lundeen of Kansas City, three special nephews, Jon Gallagher of Evansville, WI, Matthew Gallagher of Phoenix, AZ and Nathan Halvorson of Colorado Springs, CO.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Janice and Sandra, in-laws Joe and Esther Kehoe, sister and brother in law Ardell and Ron Halvorson, step-dad Keith Baker, brother in-law Steve Gallagher and other relatives and friends.
