Obituary

Ronald L. "Ronnie" Koehn, age 82, died at home surrounded by family on Friday, January 17, 2025. Ronnie was born on November 24, 1942 to Lawrence and Dorothy (Schliewe) Koehn at the home of his grandparents in Columbus. He was a 1961 graduate of Columbus High School. He was married to Kathleen A. "Kathy" Weissmann on September 22, 1962 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Columbus, where he became a member.

Ronnie was employed at Firary Implement, Columbus (along with his Dad) which became King Miller John Deere. He went on to work at John Deere in Horicon until his career reluctantly ended following his diagnosis of MS. Despite his diagnosis, Ronnie was resilient through the years with his ability to adapt. He continued to enjoy working around his home and always found a way to overcome many obstacles. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, westerns and tractor shows. He also enjoyed gardening and spending winters in Arizona with Kathy. He was a life member of the Dodge County Antique Power Club.  He was proud of his John Deere 1936 AR, that he refurbished and enjoyed showing it in the Columbus 4th of July parade and tractor shows. He followed the stock market closely and knew what to buy and sell.

Ronnie is survived by his godchildren: niece Cynthia Weissmann of Columbus and her daughter Aimee  (Jeremy) Berndt of Rio; nephew Roger Weissmann of Rubicon; godson Jason (Renee) Weissmann of Columbus; sister Bernice Fehrman of Sun Prairie and her son Mike (Lori) of Columbus and their daughter Makayla; sister Beverly Voelske of Columbus; brother Randy (Marsha) Koehn of Columbus and his children Kimberly and Ryan and grandchildren Henry and Audrey; brother Bob (Janell) Koehn of Las Vegas, NV; sister-in law, Karen Weissmann of Columbus; niece; Louise Rusch of Crivitz and her children Brandon (Stacy); Andrew and his daughter Cloie; Timothy (Ashlie) and daughters Alyanna and Zoey; Jordan (Raven) and their children Lillie, Kali and Kholt: nephew Tom (Dawn) Weissmann of Columbus and daughters Ashley (Brian); Amber and her son Emmett; other relatives and friends.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents; wife Kathleen in 2022; brothers-in-law; Paul and Jerry; nieces Debbie & Terri and nephew Larry.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 P.M., with visitation beginning at 10:30 A.M., on Friday, January 24, 2025 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Columbus. Fr. Joji Thirumalareddy will officiate. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Columbus.
