Rose Bertha
Tank
Nov 27, 1959 — Jun 26, 2025
Fall River
Rose Bertha Tank, age 65, passed away in her home in Fall River, WI on Thursday, June 26, 2025 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Rose was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, and will be deeply missed by her community. Along with her breast cancer diagnosis Rose dealt with Lupus and other health conditions for several years. Though the struggles of her diagnoses were never easy, Rose kept a smile on her face through it all.
Rose was born on November 27, 1959 to George and Sena (Johnson) Leisinger in Waverly, IA and grew up on a farm there. As a child, she loved cooking and baking with her mom, Sena, picking raspberries and apricots with her siblings, and playing with and feeding the animals, especially her horse, Yasmir. She also loved spending time with her close friends, Margyne and Mary. As an adult, Rose moved from Waverly to Aurora, CO. Here she received her broker's license and began working at Century Companies of America, where she was awarded top saleswoman of the month.
Rose met her husband, Jim, while living in Colorado and the two were married in Monona, WI on September 11th, 1993. They spent several years together in Colorado before moving to Jim's home state of Wisconsin. The couple welcomed a son, Hunter, in 1997 and the three created a loving family. In Fall River, WI Rose started a career with American Family Insurance in 1990, where she excelled in several positions and spent the remainder of her career until 2005.
Outside of work, Rose enjoyed baking, gardening, canning, and crafting. She was especially known for her homemade pies, and often sold her one-of-a-kind pieces at local craft fairs. Faith was also largely important to Rose. She often spoke the words of Psalm 118:24 over each day: "This is the day which the Lord hath made; We will rejoice and be glad in it."
If you were to ask Rose her greatest accomplishment in life, she would have said "having a family." She deeply loved and was devoted to her husband, Jim, and son, Hunter, as they were to her. Her bright smile, warm hugs, and infectious laugh will be missed by all who knew her.
Rose is survived by her husband, Jim Tank; son, Hunter (Brett Hayden) Tank of Sun Prairie, WI; brothers Kenneth (Joyce) Leisinger of Waverly, IA, Paul Leisinger of Waverly, IA, Edward (Elaine) Leisinger of Kansas City, MO, and Wendell (Kim) Leisinger of Franklin, TN; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends whom Rose cared deeply about. Preceding her in death are her father, George Arthur Leisinger, and mother, Sena Rose Leisinger (Johnson).
The family would like to thank the Fall River Fire Department, Lifestar EMS, Columbia County Sheriff's Department, all the men and women at the Madison Police Department, everyone who donated food or provided financial support through the GoFundMe campaign, and all the friends and family that stopped by to visit with Rose. They would also like to thank Rainbow Hospice Care, specifically Kate, Juanita, Jessie, and Chaplain Laura, who took great care of Rose.
