Obituary

COLUMBUS--Samantha Kaye Hensler (Ehrke), age 32, passed away on Sunday April 9, 2023. Sam was born on December 10, 1990 in Columbus, Wisconsin to loving parents Thomas G. and Lori J. Ehrke (Fuller). Sam grew up in Columbus where she graduated as senior class president of the FFA from Columbus High School in 2009. Samantha was a social butterfly with a great number of friends that loved her. She was employed at The Old Rock in Astico, WI as a cook, waitress, and bartender. She had an amazing work ethic and will be dearly missed by former co-workers, past and present. Samantha loved to hunt, fish, camp in the upper peninsula, and cook for family and friends. Samantha and her grandfather, Charles shared a love of music and would often whistle and sing along to their favorite songs. She loved to dress up and her daughter, Alexa, will miss the time she spent with her mom doing their nails and makeup. Her son, Tyler, will miss the spontaneous trips and surprises his mom would plan and the fun they enjoyed together. Sam was beyond excited for the arrival of her new niece or nephew. One of the things she talked about most was just how much she couldn't wait to be an aunt. Samantha was dearly loved and will be missed by everyone that knew her.
Samantha is survived by her parents; children Tyler G. Hensler, Alexa K. Hensler, and Amelia K. Benke of Columbus, WI; sister Anna L. (Bryan) Trippler and baby niece/nephew of Eau Claire, WI; fiancé Jeffery Benke; maternal grandmother Lynne K. Fuller of Roundlake, IL; special childhood friends Miranda (Karlos) Lozano and Jessie Keough (Cashmore) of Columbus, WI, Heather Hauge of Beaver Dam, WI; along with many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends that loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Charles L. Fuller; paternal grandparents Elmer and Marcella Ehrke; and former husband Keith R.E. Hensler.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
