Shirley Ann Nickerson, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Sienna Crest Assisted Living, Marshall, WI. She was born on June 15, 1932 to Frank and Edna (Richgels) Roessler in Sauk County, WI. Shirley was married to Donald Schmitt on September 10th 1953. Donald passed away in 1972. Shirley was fortunate to meet Howard Nickerson, and they were married September 22, 1979. Faith was very important to Shirley and spend time serving the church. She also enjoyed her family, travel, crossword puzzles, walks, dancing, and having a great sense of humor. Her loved ones would describe her as kind, polite, thankful, sweet, and caring. She has put a big void in people's lives that cared for her deeply.

Shirley is survived by her daughters Sharon Hein of Waterloo, Darlene Blankenship of Sun Prairie, Diane (Kirk) Virchow of Marshall; daughter-in-law Sandra Schmitt of Windsor; grandchildren Amy (Shawn), Tori (Tim), Kyle (Tiffany), Tyler (Natasha), Michal (Heather), Erik (Ashley); great grandchildren Braydon, Ashlyn, Oliver, Leo, Cal, Bria, Nolan, and Parker; sister Marge Fargen of Reedsburg; sisters in-law Avis Roessler, of Baraboo, Patricia Schmitt of Columbus; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Donald and Howard; son James Schmitt, grandson Troy Virchow, son-in-law Daniel Hein; brothers Francis, Thomas, Gene, John, LaVern; brothers and sisters-in-law.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 112 S. Beebe St. Marshall. Interment will be at St. Jerome Catholic Cemetery, Columbus.

Memorials may be directed to Epiphany of the Lord Parish.
