Tom R. "TR" Walker age 83, died on Monday, December 14, 2015 at Charleston House in Beaver Dam. He was born on March 29, 1932 in Columbus to Clarence and Clara (Rowe) Walker. He was a graduate of Columbus High School, then served in the U.S. Army. Tom was married to Joyce Anderson on November 9, 1957 in Portage. He owned and operated Walker Lumber Co. in Columbus and Waterloo. He also served as a volunteer for the Columbus fire department, the town council, and as organizer for the 4th of July parade. Through the seventies he announced area high school basketball games, and also dedicated many seasons to coaching youth baseball. Survivors include his wife, Joyce of Columbus; a son, Scott (Melinda) of Helenville and a daughter, Libby Walker of Columbus; five grandchildren, Tristan, Nathan and Jonathan Walker, twins Jessie and Jackie Olson; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a special aunt, Dorothy Walker. A memorial service was held at 11:00 A.M., with visitation beginning at 9:00 A.M., on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, Columbus. Rev. Robert V. Moberg officiated. Memorials may be directed to Faith Lutheran Church or the Columbus Community Hospital Foundation.
