Tonne "Iver" Huitfeldt age 69, on Thursday, July 5, 2018 began his journey to Valhalla as per his Norwegian and Danish Viking heritage. He was born on November 25, 1948 in Whitehall, WI to Roy and Vivian (Bach) Huitfeldt. Iver lived an exciting and adventurous life and was somewhat of a 'free-lance philosopher'. To his friends, Tonne will always be remembered fondly. His infectious sense of humor, along with his sparkling wit and charm are well known. His story-telling was legendary and without him the world will be a little less interesting. He graduated from the Columbus High School in 1967 and became somewhat of a jack of all trades. Travelling the U.S. through Florida, Alabama, Texas, Arizona, California and North and South Dakota, he most enjoyed his work as a one-time "roadie" for a popular rock band during an East Coast tour. He was rough and tough on the exterior and did not suffer fools gladly, but was a man of genuine compassion. During his dad's last days at home, it was Tonne who took care of his dad's personal needs. He'd also been the primary caregiver for his mother before she began her current stay at Home Again Assisted Living. Iver epitomized the 'free spirit' in all of us and will be remembered and sorely missed by his family, friends and the many people whose lives he touched. Survivors include his mother Vivian of Columbus; two sisters, Julie Ann Lange of Aurora, IL and Jennifer H. Cohn (Ken Swanson) of Port Townsend, WA; his brother Jeffrey Huitfeldt of Columbus; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Thomas; two brothers-in-law, Lee Lange and Jerry Cohn; sister-in-law Susanne (Howe) Huitfeldt.
